The Galet Spanish Alabaster Pendant Lamp.
Each pendant is hand-shaped to read like a river-smoothed pebble — irregular, asymmetric, and quietly sculptural. Carved from authentic Spanish alabaster with brass hardware, the Galet glows from within with a soft milky luminescence that highlights the stone's natural mineral veining. Five distinct pebble silhouettes (A through E) for different scales and placements.
'Galet' — French for the smooth river stones polished by centuries of water — captures the lamp's organic, weather-worn silhouette.

Spanish alabaster, shaped like water-worn stone.
Spain's quiet alabaster legacy.
Spanish alabaster — quarried primarily from the Ebro Valley in Aragón — has been prized for over two thousand years for its translucency, fine grain, and cool milky glow when backlit. Roman sculptors used it for funerary urns; medieval cathedrals used it for window panels before stained glass became widespread; today it remains the gold standard for designers who want stone that lights up like alabaster does.
The Galet pendants are hand-carved into pebble-like organic forms — irregular, asymmetric, water-worn silhouettes inspired by river stones polished smooth over centuries. Each piece is finished with polished brass hardware and a brown twisted cord. When the G9 bulb inside is turned on, the alabaster glows from within with a luminous, candle-warm light that reveals the stone's natural mineral veining.
Each pendant is uniquely veined.
Spanish alabaster is natural stone.
Spanish alabaster forms in the natural environment over millennia through complex sedimentary processes. It is a geological masterpiece that belongs to nature — not subject to human control.
This means the veining pattern, mineral inclusions, surface tone, and translucency will differ from unit to unit. Your pendant will share the overall warm white/cream color tone and pebble form shown in product photos, but the specific stone 'fingerprint' will be unique to your piece. Treat any variation as part of the material's value, not a defect.
Important notes.
G9 bulb base
One G9 bi-pin bulb per pendant (LED or halogen; not included). Recommend warm-white G9 LED at 2700K, ~3-4W — the warm glow brings out the alabaster's natural translucency. G9 bulb guide →
Hardwired ceiling install
Connects to a standard ceiling junction box via the included 150 cm / 59″ cable (extendable on request). Pairs with a common wall switch (not included). Each pendant weighs ~6.4–6.95 kg — confirm your J-box supports this load.

Questions, answered.
What makes Spanish alabaster special?
Spanish alabaster — quarried primarily from the Ebro Valley in Aragón — has been the global gold standard for fine alabaster for over two thousand years. Roman sculptors used it for funerary urns; medieval cathedrals used it for window panels before stained glass became widespread; today it remains the preferred choice for designers wanting alabaster's signature milky translucency and warm glow when backlit.
What makes Spanish alabaster particularly prized: the stone's fine, even grain, its cool warm-white tone with subtle veining, and its predictable translucency — when the G9 bulb inside is on, light passes evenly through the stone with no harsh hot spots. The result is a candle-warm, ambient glow that feels closer to natural light than a typical pendant fixture.
Why does each pendant look slightly different?
Each pendant is hand-carved from a unique block of natural Spanish alabaster — so the veining pattern, mineral inclusions, surface tone, and degree of translucency will differ from unit to unit. The overall warm-white color and pebble silhouette will match product photos, but the specific stone 'fingerprint' will be unique to your piece.
Treat any variation as part of the material's value, the same way you'd treat the unique grain of a wood floor or the veining of a marble countertop — it's what makes each pendant a one-of-a-kind piece rather than a mass-produced object.
How do I choose between Models A through E?
All five share the same Spanish alabaster + brass materials and same G9 bulb base — only silhouette and scale differ:
Model A (∅ 23.2 × H 15 cm): Widest, lowest profile — flat pebble shape. Best over dining tables, kitchen islands, and breakfast bars where you want spread without vertical drop.
Model B (∅ 19 × H 25 cm): Tallest, oval pebble. Best for bedsides, foyers, and stairwell landings where vertical drama is wanted.
Model C (∅ 15 × H 19 cm): Dome silhouette. Best for hallways, console flanking, and accent placements.
Model D (∅ 19 × H 18 cm): Most irregular, asymmetric pebble — the most 'river-stone' reading. Best for bedside or as a sculptural accent.
Model E (∅ 13.8 × H 16 cm): Most compact. Best for bedsides, powder rooms, and small-scale accent placements.
Sizing rule for over a dining table: pick a pendant diameter roughly 1/3 the table's narrow dimension.
What kind of bulb does it use, and is it dimmable?
Each pendant uses one G9 bi-pin bulb (LED or halogen; not included). G9 is a small two-pin base. Warm-white G9 LED at 2700K, around 3-4W, is recommended — the warm glow brings out the alabaster's natural translucency and reveals the stone's mineral veining as soft inner highlights.
Dimmable when paired with a dimmable G9 LED bulb and a compatible LED-rated wall dimmer. Avoid LEDs over 5W, as the alabaster shade is enclosed and excessive heat can shorten LED bulb life.
How do I care for the alabaster?
Alabaster is durable but porous and softer than marble — care with a light touch:
Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth or soft brush.
Spot-clean any marks with a slightly damp cloth (water only) — avoid soaking the stone.
Avoid acidic cleaners (vinegar, lemon, citrus-based products) which can etch the surface.
Avoid abrasive scrubbers which can scratch the natural patina.
Keep away from sustained moisture — alabaster softens with water exposure over time, so not suitable for bathrooms, especially over showers or baths.
Where does the Galet work best?
The Galet's pebble silhouette + warm alabaster glow pairs effortlessly with contemporary, modern luxe, transitional, organic-modern, Japandi, Mediterranean, and warm-traditional interiors. As a single pendant: dining tables, kitchen islands, breakfast bars, foyers, bedsides, stairwell landings, and reading nooks.
Pairs especially well with cream walls, oak and walnut wood floors, marble or travertine countertops, leather upholstery, brass hardware, and warm-neutral palettes. The alabaster's milky warm tone is most flattering against neutral or warm-toned walls — particularly stunning in dimly-lit spaces where the glow becomes the focal point.
